Snicks' Summer Top Ten

Summer is nearly over and we have had a blast!  Our first summer in Colorado can be considered nothing less than a success!  With that in mind we have put together a little top ten list of our first summer in the Wild West!

10. Chief landed a new job this summer...at the same university...and even in the same building!  She absolutely loves it!  There have been a few early challenges, but she is more than getting a hang of it and it is a great fit for her!

9. It wouldn't fair for us to have a list without including some of our projects!  G'pa B helped us put a new floor in the upstairs bathroom, our friend A replaced our toilet over her lunch hour (wow!), and Snicks basically finished painting all of the main rooms inside.  We have a few things to finalize yet, but our new nursery is just about done (pics to be loaded upon completion)!!

8. AGN's need for speed.  She asks for wind in her hair when she is in the car, and just a couple of weeks ago, Chief put her bike seat on so that we could go for a ride!  We had some serious fun, "BEEP, BEEP" - AGN.
Her first bike ride...she loved it...AGN definitely has a need for speed!!
7. AGN's first softball game.  We took a gamble last weekend and let AGN stay up late in order to see Snicks' Friday night softball game.  Chief walked with her from the park to the field where they found a spot in the stands.  When AGN saw Snicks running into the dugout her eyes lit up and she started yelling, "Daddy!  Daddy!"  It was awesome!  Only, she continued yelling "Daddy!" and pointing at Snicks for nearly two innings!  I think she likes some softball.

6. Summer splashing!  We have known this for awhile, but AGN loves the water.  It could be running through the sprinkler, her new bathtub back float, pool time, or splashing in puddles, she loves it!
Happiness is playing in the water.

5. Funny words and expressions.  Everyone tells us that AGN is at a great age.  She sleeps all night long (most of the time), which makes it a great age to me.  But it has been great to see her personality develop and she is incredibly vocal.  So what does she say?  "Choo-choo" (with accompanying arm motion); "airplane" (with the required singular finger pointed to the sky); "bih truck" (usually after seeing a big truck - or hearing one); "I wuv u"; or Chief's personal favorite "AGN schit...mommy schit...daddy schit" (of course pointing at a chair).  She also walked up to Snicks at one point this summer and pulled up his shirt, pointed at his tummy and said, "Bubble!"  Its almost like she knows she that she has a sense of humor!
She must be a Cleveland Indians fan?!?
Smiles, cooking with Chief.

Every day is an adventure, AGN loves to explore!!

4. Family reunion in Winter Park!  For a week in Winter Park we had lots of fun with family!  Walks with G'pa N, lots of cousin time, Breeds galore, and fun with Gigi were just a few of the highlights.

Cousin time in the backyard!!

Gigi and her girls!!
3. Our first Colorado Rockies game.  Chief and I made it to our 18th Major League Baseball stadium!  The Rockies won 9-1 and we even got to see a Grand Slam!  Who knows where #19 will be next summer!

2. AGN's eats everything.  This is my personal favorite, but AGN has proven to be a voracious eater.  Among her summer highlights were a breakfast of half of banana, and 5 and a half scrambled eggs!!  Or the snack, emphasis on snack that entailed devouring 4 fresh medium sized tomatoes that she munched as if they were apples!
Who doesn't want a swig of vinegar?!?  It's not just food, she'll drink anything too!
1. Our 10th anniversary!  That's right, this adventurous love affair has eclipsed a decade.  Chief still doesn't understand my sense of humor, her selective listening seems to have increased in the last 12 months, and her movie choices, well...regardless, I couldn't have asked for a better partner and I am more in love with her now than I ever have been.

Chief's new flower bed, and a budding baby bump in front! :-)

AGN rocks!!
