Chief has been celebrating the end of the "event season" which coincides with summer in Oberlin. It has been an extremely busy summer, but we are very glad to have made it through. Snicks pulled many a "super volunteer" day without so much as a grumble. Deep down, I think he loves downtown as much as I do.
Snicks capped off the summer with a visit to the homeland (Minnesota). He enjoyed loads of family time and the chance to catch up with some of our friends. Our adorable niece Annabelle was happy to take time to read a book with Uncle Snicks and entertain him with songs from The Sound of Music (yes, she knows the songs by heart and she is only 2 1/2).
As Autumn approaches, so does basketball season. It almost seems as though it hasn't ended. Recruiting (yes, they recruit) is a year-'round activity, and now that the students are back, there are meetings and other coaching responsibilities for Snicks. In addition to being the Asst. Coach, he is the game manager for Women's Field Hockey, assisting with a weight training course, and on the Residential Education staff as a Resident Liaison (which is why we live in a dorm). Is there anything this wonderful man can't do?
Hope that you are all enjoying the end of summer! Stay tuned...
