Three Weeks In...

We are at the crossroads of developmental confusion in our house.  AG is in the prime of her two year old revolt - only she does it in the sweetest of ways...LS is three weeks old and starting to look around and see the world (literally we have a big map on our wall right behind her favorite breakfast bar)...Chief is developmentally delirious at the moment, something she attributes to "New Mommy Syndrome"...and through all of this I am somehow attempting to move closer towards my PhD, which currently stands for Pretty harried Daddy!

Nevertheless, we are finding lots of smiles (it's hard not to with two cutie girls around and one hot mamma!), and plenty of time to appreciate our blessings (i.e. takeout Chinese, mothers to come take care of us, friends with food, and understanding professors).

Here are a few of our recent highlights, through photos and anecdotes (it must be noted that as I write, LS is "lunching" for the second time at her favorite breakfast bar, I can feel her toes tingle on my arm every time she gets an extra rich gulp...AG is singing/talking/conversing/acting out her favorite lines from Shakespeare/seriously avoiding a nap...and Chief is dedicatedly surfing the 2 inch by 4 inch electronic device that the world knew nothing of when she was a mere lassie!!):

So, AG's newest line when she wants to independently do something: "Walk away!"  I can only describe it as 1 part annoying, 4 parts brilliant, and 10 parts absolutely hilarious!

Chief's mother was in town for the past two weeks (YEA!) and LS et al, took their first outing to the Butterfly Pavilion in the big city, and shopping for new kicks for AG.  Upon arrival back home AG looked at Grandma and said, "More shoes!"  - I'm afraid a monster is born, just like her mother.

This morning we went to the local airport restaurant and ate breakfast overlooking the small plane runway.  It was actual quite cool.  But the highlight was watching AG repeatedly grab food directly off Chief's plate and eat it without pause.  Chief claimed that she was simply too tired to muster up any kind of a defense (it was a little sad), as her two-year old strong-armed her for her toast and sausage links!

AG loves to give LS smooches, it's pretty adorable...only she doesn't quite understand why LS is such a prude.  Every time she wants to (which is a lot), AG prefers to go straight for the lips, although the forehead isn't a terrible consolation prize.

Smoochies!!!

LS - Already getting bigger!

SISTERS:

GRAMMA TIME:

The weather has been nice enough to catch a few walks, AG loves sitting next to her sister in the double stroller!!  AG is totally enamored with her new sister...she announces every meal for LS, wants to hold her often, and gets upset if she does not get to say goodnight to her sister multiple times before she gets tucked in.

We have even said our prayers together as a family of four - per AG's request - what a wonderful way to end the day.  And after spending weeks in the guest room, the nursery, on the couch or on the futon, I'm back!  Life is good.
