Well, actually, we are FINALLY in our new home and almost have our furniture! We are still without internet service but hopefully that is remedied on Wednesday morning.
Here are some pics of our house from the first day/weekend. We have already changed so much (painted rooms, scraped/painted fence, G'pa Steve repaired the ceilings, carpets were cleaned, bushes trimmed, ivy removed) - but those pictures will come later. Here is what we started with:
Front door, ivy covered planter, and living room window.
Posing with Brett's new "toy" from C's parents.
Our favorite room in the house is actually outside - screen porch.
Neat, true divided light windows throughout the house (these are in living room)
We are looking forward to cuddling up by the fireplace (or the one in the basement) this winter.
Our first impressions:
- Solid - it is a very solidly built home
- Storage - cedar closet, built in wardrobes, many closets = awesome
- Brett is going to get a nice tan because there is so much yard work to do
- Great neighborhood - gorgeous houses and yards (ours will get there someday), quiet, nice neighbors who all seem to be retired professors
- Quality - lots of nice touches in the home like built in alcoves, curved walls, nice cabinetry
- The porch - we are going to live out there most of the year
We are looking forward to feeling settled... maybe that will happen in a few months! Until then, Chief is enjoying her job, AG is lovin' her Daddy Daycare time, and Snicks is trying to tame the jungle, err, yard.
